10 Years

I've said before that facebook has ruined high school reunions and I stand by that statement. I had fun (kind of), but I'm just so shy and awkward and mainly just stuck to my group of friends rather than mingling with a bunch of people I never really talked to in high school. Plus, I already know what most of them are up to because of facebook.

I got my makeup done for the occasion and the girl at Mac did an amazing job. Please excuse the scary devil red eyes.

Thank goodness my husband came with me. I needed him there for moral support!

My girls! I stuck to them the whole time. I pretty much only said hi to other people if I ran into them on the way to or from the bathroom, or if they came up to me directly. I wish I could get over my shyness, but I think at this point in my life I might be stuck with it forever.

We left pretty early because I was starving (didn't have time to eat dinner before we left and the appetizers there weren't doing it for me). I stayed sober, but my husband had a few drinks and woke up with a nice hangover the next morning. Maybe I would've had more fun with a few glasses of champagne in me!

Have you been to a high school reunion? Would you go? Why or why not?

My 10 year HS reunion fell right after my daughter was born. I wanted to go but didn't feel like I was suitable to see friends and family let alone people I hadn't seen in 10 years!! lol I think I would go the next time around, although I agree that I think FB ruins things in a way!!

You look great though! Super cute dress and sweater!!

Jen ;)

Mine is next year...I'm guessing I'll probably go but I seriously never talk to high school people...I am really only still friends with people from middle school or college...but there are a few people it'd be fun to see and I won't have to travel far so I probably will go anyways. Glad you had fun!

I should have edited out your red eyes, sorry! I was too hungover to do anything except get the pictures online, haha. You looked beautiful!

Oh, and I was right there with ya Mike!! I think we both indulged a little more than the rest of our group. :) Haha. Made for a good time..I think.

I did not go to my 10 year, I didn't even go to prom. I really don't talk to anyone I knew in high school, and I only have 1 or 2 on Facebook. I don't care what people are up to, so I didn't see the reunion as something I needed to spend a bunch of money on to go to. Don't regret it either.

I'm with you about Facebook! The people I want to see, I already keep in touch with, and FB lets me peek at what everyone else is doing. You're still brave to have gone! No one from my "group" went so I chickened out! Maybe 20 years...

At least you suited up and showed up and had a good group of friends to hang with. I felt pretty shy too, I pretty much counted on Valerie to do all the talking. Adam was better at this deal than I was.

I totally agree. We're not even having a reunion this year (also 10 years) because it's just not necessary. Plus I already see and talk to the people I want to!

You look lovely! :)

My 10 year reunion is in November and I'm not planning to attend. My husband has no desire to go and the tickets are pretty expensive (over $100 per ticket). It is also pretty far from where we live and ... We're just not going.

You look super gorgeous...HS reunion is a great time to get your makeup done! I didn't go to my 10 year because I was in New York covering bridal market. I will admit I got a lot of satisfaction out of saying I couldn't come because I'd be covering bridal fashion week. I'm so lame.
