20 weeks

Halfway there!!! This has been an exciting week. We had our big anatomy scan on Monday and we're anxiously awaiting Thanksgiving morning to open our card and find out if it's a little boy or little girl squirming around inside me. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!

Each morning, my alarm wakes me up and I snooze it a few times while our dogs beg to be fed. Usually my husband gets up to handle them and I stay in bed a little longer to check my phone. After being awake for a few minutes, I'll start to feel the baby move and it's the best part of my day. Sure, I feel it move all throughout the day now, but those first kicks/punches/rolls in the morning make me so happy.

I'm not sure if I'm nesting quite yet, but since I've moved into the master bedroom closet, I am getting a lot better with managing my laundry and putting my clothes away each night. When I was using the closet in the guestroom, the entire bed (and sometimes the floor) was always covered with my clothes. Now that there's nowhere for my clothes to go (our bed is slept in every night and the floor is off limits because the dogs are allowed in our bedroom), I've been much better about keeping things tidy. Go me!

Speaking of clothes, getting dressed each morning is getting more and more difficult. I have been trying to mentally prepare my outfit for the next day before I go to sleep each night because I hate staring at my clothes in the morning for 10 minutes trying to decide what to wear. Last night, I had to check my weekly photos to make sure I wouldn't repeat an outfit. Let's see if I can get through all 40 weeks (actually 32 since I started with week 8) without repeating the exact same combination!

I haven't been waking up in the middle of the night to pee for weeks, which is awesome. I am, however, getting annoyed with my work bathroom situation. There are many things I love about my new job, but the bathroom is not one of them. At my old school, there was a faculty bathroom about 10 steps from my classroom door. Plus, it was a single bathroom, as opposed to stalls. At my new school, I have to walk outside and through some driveways to get to the bathroom (not a big deal unless it's raining) and there are stalls. The stall dividers are super short so you can see the face of the person next to you until they sit down. Also, there's no heat and the room is floor to ceiling tile, so when it's chilly outside it's freezing in the bathroom. I suppose it wouldn't be as annoying if I wasn't pregnant, but I see that bathroom more than I'd like these days.

Here's an outtake from my photo shoot this week:

Kinda cool, huh? I didn't do anything different with the settings on the camera, it just had a little hiccup. Our camera is definitely on it's way out. It has survived wine spilled all over it and a toddler dropping it repeatedly, but it seems to be ready to retire. We need a new one, but it's not really in the budget.

And here's the baby at 20 weeks:

What a cutie!

Yaaaay for moving baby, finding out the gender in less than a week, and a cute baby bump!

Boo on those dumb bathrooms. I hate bathrooms like that. I never understood why ANYONE would design one like that! It makes no sense whatsoever!

xo,
A
