#WEverb11: One Word

I attempted #reverb10 last year, but didn't finish and it made me sad. This year, my online buddy Kimberly Michelle decided to create #WEverb11 for this year since reverb isn't coming back. Since I can't commit to posts every day and it gives me anxiety, I love that a whole week's work of posts go up at once so I can participate without feeling like a failure if I fall behind.

Prompt #1: One Word

Encapsulate the year 2011 in one word. Explain why. Imagine it’s one year from today, what would you like the word to be that captures 2012 for you?

This was the same prompt for reverb's first day last year. It was fun to look back at what I wrote. Last year my word was "rollercoaster" (I cheated and made two words into one) and I wanted this year's word to be "peace".

I wouldn't say that "peace" encapsulates 2011 for me, but it's close. I'd say the best word for this year is:

Exciting

So many exciting thing have happened this year. We were on Secrets from a Stylist with Emily Henderson and our living room went from this:

to this:

We started fertility medication and got pregnant on the first try:

and celebrated our second wedding anniversary:

Unfortunately, we lost the pregnancy soon after, but we made it through together. We had an incredible mini vacation to Big Sur and San Francisco:

and conceived again:

I started a new job at my dream school and adjusted to a whole new world of teaching.

We heard our baby's heartbeat for the first time:

saw it's little face on an ultrasound:

and found out it's a boy!

It doesn't get more exciting than that, right?

For next year, I know my word will be "love". So much love is coming our way...
