10 weeks

I keep doing this at the end of the week I'm documenting. Is that the way I should continue or should I be taking pictures at the beginning of the week?

This week was very stressful work-wise. I had back to school night and grades due all at the same time and I still have so much work to do this weekend. Just keep swimming is my motto.

I was also sick a lot more this week... well, I was sick for longer periods of time, I guess. Instead of just a 5 minute bout, I would feel sick all day long. Today I've felt pretty good all day, which still kind of makes me nervous, but I find myself worrying less and less.

I changed my doctor appointment!! I get to go this Monday instead of waiting another week. I'm not sure if they'll do an ultrasound or just listen to the heartbeat, but I hope they do both. Am I allowed to just say I want both? Does it work that way? I also plan to talk to my doctor a bit about labor and delivery. I want to start to explain my preferences* and see what he thinks. I have a feeling he is going to be supportive no matter what, but we'll see.

I had a pretty terrible dream this week about losing the baby. Luckily, everything was fine in the end, but it still freaked me out a little bit. I had another dream where I actually saw our baby (well, my dream version). It was a boy and he was chubby and had blonde hair. I was pushing him in a chic black stroller in San Francisco and we were trying to move up there. Now THAT'S a dream.

I got maternity pants!! I'm wearing one of the pairs in the photos above. Since I'm not in to lifting up my shirt, here's what the top looks like from Old Navy's website. I got a pair of cords in a similar style. I like the under the belly fit for now. Super comfortable! I'm not sure I'll be able to wear them in my 9th month, but they work for now. It's nice to be able to throw on some jeans and sneakers instead of wearing dresses every single day.

As far as cravings go? I think I crave the typical stuff, but there's just more urgency. For example, I've had cravings for macaroni salad in the past, but I would resist the urge. Now, if I want it, I eat it. I definitely killed my macaroni salad craving and now I'm not sure I'll ever eat it again. One thing I can't get enough of is lemonade popsicles. I think having one of those each night is better than ice cream, right? I am trying to be careful with sugar because I really don't want to fail my glucose test. However, based on people I know (mostly online) who have passed/failed it seems kind of random (super healthy people failing, not so healthy people passing).

Oh, and for those curious, we will definitely be finding out the sex of the baby. There's no way I can wait until he or she is born and be surprised. I think there are plenty of other surprises in life ;)

*I'm scared to share my preferences. I feel like no matter what people say regarding birth/babies, someone takes offence to it. If enough of you really want to know, I'll take the plunge, but you have to promise to be nice.

I would definitely like to know your preference! Anyone who reads this blog or knows you, will know you'll be beyond thrilled no matter which gender your baby is!

I'm not ashamed to say that when we get pregnant, I truly hope we have a girl first! :-) The hubs doesn't care. My mom and sisters want me to have a boy. His sisters want me to have a girl. Lol.

xo,
A

I'd love to hear about your preferences! If people have a problem with that then that's their problem. If there's anything we all know about you is that you will do what is best for you and your baby!! I love reading these posts! So happy for you :)

I am not sure why you want an ultrasound... but you may want to consider NOT having any unless medically needed. There has been little study done on adverse affects, or not, from ultrasounds at any stage of pregnancy, and many experts suggest forgoing them unless necessary.

Just FYI... I know it can be exciting to think you may see your baby, but to be on the safe side, you may want to skip unnecessary ultrasounds.
