Sleepy Anxiety

I start at my new school one week from today. I'm terrified. The dreams should start any night now. I always have scary dreams about work at the end of big breaks (summer and winter). I wonder if that will ever go away...

I'm tired. All I want to do is eat and sleep. This is making it difficult to prepare lesson plans and set up my classroom. I'll get it done, though. I always do.

This weekend we my husband almost finished our entryway. He wanted the record to show that I did not help AT ALL. I just paid for the paint.

I took this picture of the paint chips because we were buying the paint, but I already had picked out the colors from swatches we have had since right after Emily styled our house. She told us what would compliment the dark purple in the living room and we listened. I will tell you what color we went with once it is all done.

Saturday night, we went to my friend Michelle's parents' house for a BBQ. I had fun playing with her adorable son, Carter.

We went to church on Sunday morning and afterwards my husband made breakfast. Love that guy.

I feel kinda bad that my husband worked so hard this weekend on the entryway while I sat around and did nothing. But, not THAT bad.

Ok, back to worrying myself to sleep. I hope you had a great weekend!

Happy Friday!

Do you have plans for the weekend? My husband is helping me move boxes into my new classroom on Saturday and on Sunday we're going back to MOCA for an event with Levi's. Besides that, I plan to try to squeeze a bit more relation in as I only have one more week off before I go back to work.

Here are some of my favorite things from around the wed this week:

An interesting article about talking to little girls.

I need to try this pizza recipe next time we whip out the pizza stone.

These would be pretty on our patio.

I'm loving these adorable diaper bag alternatives!

Twins terrify me, but I love this nursery inspiration board for boy/girl twins.

Have a fantastic weekend!

Busy and Lazy all at the same time

Since we got home from San Francisco, I have been extra lazy. I should be planning and cleaning and organizing, but instead I'm sleeping and sitting around and watching a lot of TV. After a week of lounging, we had a pretty busy weekend. We went to a friend's baby shower on Saturday (more about that tomorrow) and Sunday we went down to Huntington Beach to visit friends.

There was a lot going on down there, so we decided to take advantage of it. First, we had brunch on Main St. It was so crowded due to the US Open of Surfing that was going on that weekend. After we ate, we decided to walk down to the beach to check it out.

It was so crowded with half naked teenagers that we left pretty quickly. We stopped by the graffiti wall on our way out...

We are so white.

After checking out the open, we headed to the OC Fair! We almost didn't go due to lack of motivation, but it ended up being really fun, so I'm glad we did.

My husband was excited to eat. Oh, who am I kidding? We all were excited for the food.

This little T-Rex had a strange tail growing out of his groin...

We stopped and watched the performers for a bit. Love those dresses!

And we ran into this puppet thingamajig.

After we met up with some other friends, the boys played games.

And they went on a ride. We just watched because I was too scared.

Then, we headed over to the animals.

Baby goat!

Big fat pig!

HUGE cow.  There were two of them pulling a cart and I thought they were fake until I saw them move.

We wanted to go on this ride...

But we didn't have enough tickets. I was sad, but mainly because I didn't want to walk all the way back to the exit. My feet were hurting a bit and I was done walking around by this point.

It was a big day and it was really fun! I'm glad we didn't sit around at home doing nothing, as that's what I had been doing all week.

What did you do this weekend? Did you stay busy or relax?

Happy Weekend!

I hope you have a fantastic weekend. I plan to do lots of laundry (our dryer has been broken for a week and we just got it fixed), run some errands, and eat plenty of watermelon while trying to keep our house clean! Do you think we can keep it clean for a whole week?

Here's some of my favorite things from around the web this week:

Jenna looks amazing. I'm so proud of her!

If I was 10, I'd be all over this lemonade stand setup from One Charming Party.

This nursery inspiration board is adorable for a little boy. Add some pink and purple and it would be perfect for a girl, too!

I love Ana White. Her bathroom vanity with a built-in step stool is genius!

Bri from Design Love Fest is so stylish. I wish I had an ounce of her style. Her food posts by Jen Gotch are pretty delicious-looking, too.

This subtle chevron wall treatment has my head spinning. So beautiful!
